Individual coaching is a tailored process, one size really does not fit all.

​

Coaches are engaged when people reach a point in their life when they want something more or something different. A coach will never judge you, they will listen, ask questions and enable you to get your thoughts clear so that you can plan your next steps. The method used by a good coach will help you to find the confidence to believe that you can change something that you really do want to change. They will help you to identify what you are prepared to do rather than leave you 'wishing' for something that you know you simply wont do. Failing to make changes that you want adds to a feeling of self disappointment. Changing the right things makes you feel great. Typical reason for coaching:

Working with teams

The responsibility for high performance in teams lies with each person knowing what needs to be achieved and making a personal commitment to being accountable for their actions. There is often a range of issues getting in the way: hidden agendas, mistrust, rivalry, not feeling safe, lack of fairness.

 

If there were no hidden barriers then the team would probably have already completed the task in hand . The coach must get the issues on the table if the team are going to become the high performing unit that is essential to the company.

I work with teams all of the time. Communication, shared goals, empathy need to be established to move a team together effectively. The initial barrier to getting teams talking is time - there is always something more important , but what is really more important than a team pulling together to deliver results?

​

If the manager is part of the problem, then they will struggle to coach the team to move from tolerating to triumphant- use an external professional.

about me

As the Group CEO of 3 businesses, I have responsibility for delivering results to shareholders through the people that I employ. I work with teams and individuals aiming to help them identify for themselves what they want to stop doing, start doing and do more of - to be the best that they can be. I retain a small exclusive group of private coaching clients in the UK and overseas. I will only retain coachees who want to improve some part of themselves. I don't carry passengers.


With a clear commercial focus, I work with people to impact the bottom line performance of the business. This can be through engaging with the talent that companies want to keep, working with those struggling, improving the soft skills of executives or just giving people the chance to think out loud and see what they need to do to improve.


I facilitate discussion and debate at the highest level in organisations. This is where my strength for seeking clarity and understanding drives results.

 

I have been shortlisted twice for the International Executive Coach of the Year Award, blog regularly for Personnel Today and review books for the Institute of Leadership and Management, where I am a Fellow.
